Coffee beans and Cloves

Before we begin..

Now, names are deceptive, don’t fall for this one. These musings are nowhere related to recipes unless I count in recipes to disasters and a few good times. As I walk on I observe, I analyze, throw simple things into the frying pan of logic! have my paranoid fears proven wrong, and then for lack of drama, deny the semblance of normalcy life deserves. At times, with stubborn determination and reckless hope I successfully invent Episodes. It is entertaining, but not all the time. Life and time get the better of you in the end. Demons from the past do catch on to you. Ultimately it is just you and the goddamned flu! But there are also traces that people leave behind. An everlasting impact, however small, on the scheme of our lives. With time, which has a beautiful way of playing with memories, we wipe clean the bad reminiscing fondly the good, and without realizing stumble into the next phase. I too have been a delighted victim of this artifice of the heart.

Similarly, we have blogs, a collection of reflections, easily re-tailored. You post, you edit. You come back to it after a year and feel so differently, you don’t just edit, you delete. Like deleting a part of your life, chip off the story, patch it up with that that you’d rather see. Because a blog is a part of your being, it is an extension of your existence. It depicts the way we see ourselves, and, yes, way we want to be seen.

I don’t wish to claim my immortality i these words, for they are not immune to change. just as the after tastes change with time and recollections eventually attain lucidity, so would these. But once you are Here, its only coffee beans and cloves.

  1. This is obviously the best written prose piece. Come to think of it, probably the only prose piece!

Why don’t you write more? Are you too busy editing these posts?!

Hmm.. exams i guess and then the general lack of drama. which is often not gratifying in the form of a monologue. Been missing my other half (i wont say better..hehe), even though its so close. :)
